Divinely given Simplicity

As we go into this New Year, let's understand that this is not just another year but an era of Simplicity in Christ. Simplicity, now this is a word that I won't object to. The Oxford Dictionary presents this word as the quality or condition of being easy to understand or do; the Merriam-Webster dictionary meaning suggests: the state of being simple, uncomplicated, or uncompounded. I know you are saying, "How can anything be easy in this day and time?" Well, let me explain, from my view, "simplicity comes within the surrender of who you are and what you can do in your strength." These things are surrendered unto our Lord Jesus Christ as he shows you who he is and how much life you have in him.

There is simplicity as we go from glory to glory in the freedom to become who God has called us to be. In John 1:3 All things were made by him, and without him was anything made that was made. In this verse, there is so much simplicity in knowing that God created all that is on this earth, and if it were not for him creating through his Word, who is Jesus Christ, we would not have the things we have. Now, by knowing this, we should reconsider how we live. Our lives should depend on the provided provision and not on what we can provide in our strength. John 1:4 states," In him was life; and the life was the light of men." We should see even here where life comes from our creator, and the life he gave is our light to see, vision was given to us to succeed in him.

Being obedient to God's word in your life brings simplicity, but living in his simplicity goes back to intimacy with him. This is built on a foundation of willingness to be a vessel for God to use (simplicity), being ready to learn, being teachable and sensitive to what the Holy Spirit has just for you. Simplicity divinely presents no clutter in our minds: walking in this creates peace and intimacy with Christ. There should be no anxiety or doubt in any situation; you do all the tasks, but the peace you have doing them is immeasurable. When you are in the will of God, there is a knowing that signs will follow you as you go deeper into the realms of his will, simplicity will be there to meet you.

To be clear, God is not simple. He is a complex being, mysterious to some until he reveals himself, but life could be so much easier for us if we listen to his instructions and understand that he is always speaking. His complexity is rooted in his faithfulness, grace, and mercy as a father to us. He continuously leads us in the direction we must go to live in the simplicity of the Word that he spoke over us as his children. Just know in 2024, there are no losses within your destiny only victory when walking in the will of God. He takes your heavy burdens and replaces them with rest, in this rest there is simplicity in the inactivity of your will, and imagination. He will never force his will on you but as you embrace him as a father and in reverence to who he is, you will gradually insert yourself in his will through intimacy.

So in all you do this year, remember to walk in the divine simplicity that's given to you.
